Leeds and Liverpool

Northern England's longest canal, built more than 230 years ago, runs from coast to coast passing through 91 locks, including the famous Five Rise locks at Bingle. The final section in Liverpool passes through the Pier Head World Heritage Site in front of the famous ‘Three Graces’ – the Liver, Cunard and Port of Liverpool buildings. A passage from the Irish Sea to the North Sea will take a week on a narrow boat and carry you through some of the most stunning countryside in the Pennines and Yorkshire Dales.

Liverpool Canal Link

The new £20 million Liverpool Canal Link connects the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to Liverpool's South Docks, allowing boats to travel 1.4miles past ‘The Three Graces’ into Liverpool Marina. The south docks are used for canoeing, water-skiing, scuba diving and lots of other exciting watersports.
