Lake District

You can't go wrong in the Lake District - The 88 bodies of water in the National Park attract around 14 million visitors every year. Windermere lake steamers are one of the UK's most popular tourist attractions; why not try a steam cruise and experience a throwback to a more stylish age of relaxed voyages. There is plenty of other activity with rowing boats, kayaks and motor boats for hire on the major lakes. Derwent Water

Surrounded by hills and the market-town of Keswick nestling on its shores, Derwent Water is perhaps the most beautiful and popular lakes. There are several islands in the lake and regular passenger services run between the various landing stages. As well as being great location for cruising, sailing and kayaking activities, the area is rich is literary history and walking country. Watch out - If visitors' testimonies are anything to go by, you will be instantly hooked.
