The unspoiled landscape of Jersey provides a place which you can really get away from it all. With one of the largest tidal ranges in the world and local watermen are highly skilled and internationally held in regard as some of the best in the world. It’s a place where you can try every water-based activity you can think of, as well as some you can’t.

Where the water meets the land you will find a hugely varied coastline that includes big surfing beaches and intimate rock bound coves and as an island rich in maritime heritage you will find that people in Jersey love the sea.

From dinghy sailing, to chartering an un-skippered yacht – if it moves in the water you can try it in Jersey. Beginners can learn to sail in enchanting surroundings. More experienced sailors can cast off and discover a different slice of Island life – offshore reefs, secluded anchorages, diverse wildlife and fantastic scenery.

Event wise make sure you don't miss the annual Jersey Boat Show which takes place in the Islands capital city of St Helier or the Jersey Regatta which kicks off in September based at the Royal Channels Islands Yacht Club.

If sailing isn’t your thing then try kayaking. It’s a great way to explore the parts of Jersey that other boats can’t reach and the Island is among the world’s top sea kayaking destinations. Find your own private hideaway and see the Island’s wildlife close up by kayaking through the west coast surf or simply enjoy a quiet paddle in a beautiful bay.

When the weather turns warmer you can take to the water for some of the islands more adrenaline filled sports. You’ll find opportunities to jetski, waterski and wakeboard all along Jersey’s South Coast in St Brelade’s Bay and St Aubin’s Bay.
