About Llangollen Canal

The Llangollen Canal is one of Britain's most popular for cruising and runs from Llangollen to Chirk, passing a chain of villages along the way. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct crosses the River Dee at a height of 126 feet and was granted World Heritage Status in 2009.  A relaxing Llangollen cruise from Wrenbury in Cheshire to Llangollen will take around three days with only 12 locks to negotiate

Llangollen Wharf

From Llangollen Wharf visitors can take a horse drawn boat trip along the feeder for the main canal. Alternatively, motorised aqueduct cruises go further and cross the impressive Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
