RIB Training

Take a course

If you want to use your boat at sea we strongly recommended that you take a course to learn about tides, navigation and emergency procedures. Training will cost around £200 per person for a one-day course, £325 for a two-day course.

Royal Yachting Association

The RYA provides a Powerboat Scheme that is internationally recognised. The ideal beginners course for complete beginners is the Level 1 Powerboat certificate, for those with some previous knowledge you may be able to skip to Level 2, but check with your training centre first. To find out more about the RYA please follow the link below.

RYA PB Level 1 from £99
RYA PB Level 2 from £199

Chartered ribs will provide you with a qualified skipper and knowledgeable guide who can guide you, allowing you to visit many favourite beaches in one day. Without the hassle of fuelling up and launching at the start of the day, no worrying about what to do during the day and most importantly, no cleaning up at the end.

If you have no prior experience it is essential that you and your crew undergo some level of training. The most useful for newcomers is the RYA Powerboat Level 1 and Level 2. These not only teach you the rules, and how to handle the boat, they make you more confident on the water. They are suitable for short day trips. For longer passage-making you should go on the Intermediate or Advanced Courses.
