Buying A New Boat
Buying a new boat is relatively straightforward as many of the checks that are required.
New boats can be purchased either direct from the boatyard that built the boat, or buy it from one of their appointed Dealers.
Contact a Boat Manufacturer
The UK has a wealth of boat manufacturers from traditional wooden boats and family river cruisers and narrow boats to sailing dinghies and yachts.
Visit an Authorised Dealer
Many brokers and dealers sell used boats as well as new. If you contact the manufacturer, they can put you in touch with your local dealer.
A good broker will walk you through the entire boat buying process, from determining what type of boat you should get, to arranging financing and negotiating a contract. The only thing a broker will not do is survey the boat. Brokers have an extensive network of contacts and boat listings from which to search and can greatly increase your likelihood of finding the right boat.
